Tomato Festival Queen Scholarship Pageant Applications Available For Pittston Tomato Festival Queen Scholarship Pageant Applications are now available for the 2010 Miss Tomato Festival Queen Scholarship pageant which will be held at the Pittston Tomato Festival on August 21st. The winner will receive a $500 scholarship and the first runner up will receive a $250 scholarship. All participants will receive several gifts. Scoring is based on an interview, stage performance/talent which may include a commercial for the Festival, a song, dance, etc. Entrants are not required to be from the Pittston area. Applications are available at Pittston City Hall 35 Broad Street, The Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce, William Street and Kennedy Boulevard or by emailing Angel Noone at AngelPA5@aol.com. Send email with your complete mailing address, age, name and phone number. There is a $30 entrance fee and proof of age is required. Application entry fee can be mailed to: Pittston Tomato Festival c/o City Hall 35 Broad St. Pittston, PA 18640 All participants are invited to participate in the Tomato Festival parade which will take place on Saturday, August 21st, at 11:30 a.m. Former Tomato Festival Queen Angel Noone is the Chairperson of the pageant. Attention single young ladies between the ages of 14 to 19 years old: Compete for the 2008 Miss Tomato Festival Queen title … prizes and gifts for all, a $500 cash college scholarship to the winner and a $250 cash college scholarship to the first runner-up. (Those not attending college may use the scholarship for educational purposes) To be eligible you need to be single, between the ages of 14-19, and available to compete Saturday August 21st at 1:00. Each entrant is invited to ride in the Saturday morning parade, however it is not required. The 2010 winner will of course be required to be at the festival to meet and greet guests through the conclusion of the festival on Sunday night. You are not required to be from Pittston. Deadline for entry is August 12th, 2010.
