Pittston Tomato Festival 5K Run

The run will take place on Saturday, August 23rd at 11:00 a.m. Pre-registration forms can be obtained by calling 654-4601. Anyone who has not pre-registered may register the day of the race. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Greater Pittston YMCA.

The 3.1 mile course will include downtown Pittston, the Fort Jenkins Bridge, West Pittston and the Water Street Bridge.

Streets will be traffic controlled and miles will be marked. The course begins at Main and William streets and ends at the Tomato festival grounds. The entry fee is $10 in advance and $12 after August 18th. Checks can be made payable to: The Pittston Festival Association.

Traffic will be blocked from entering downtown Pittston at 10:30 a.m. The Pittston Tomato Festival Parade will be held at 11:30 a.m. and all parade participants are asked to line-up by 10:30 a.m.

Last year's run was extremely successful. A total of 203 participants enjoyed the event and many stayed after the race and enjoyed the festival. A free T-shirt will be given to the first 150 runners to register. Race volunteers will receive a race staff shirt. Awards will be given to the top three runners in each age group.
